"I love black cars, and when I saw this car cruising around Castle Hill a couple of times, I thought "Thats a decent looking Civic Type R, it's even got TE37s" then I saw the person driving the car, bruh it's a girl.
Well here it is, our first feature on the website, Monica's Type R on TE37." - Alfa Rein
Tell us about your car, what it is, how long you had it for and why you bought it?
I have a 2019 Honda Civic Type R (FK8) that I bought around October/November 2021 so it's almost coming up to a year of ownership! At the time when I decided I really wanted this car, I had only recently bought my VW Golf R. Everything about the FK8 appealed to me - the wide body, the wing, the way it drove, the interior. I knew I wanted a manual again so after almost 2 years of owning the Golf R I bit the bullet and got the FK8 :)
Which mod were you happy with the most and why?
I'd have to say the Xforce Downpipe. After I paired it with the Xforce Catback, it came out with a nice deep tone - not too quiet and not excessively loud.
What's next for your car?
Taking a bit of a break from mods at the moment, but next up will definitely be coil overs. Would love to have the car sit a bit lower than what it is now.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone who's new to the car modifying world, what would it be?
Definitely do your own research. Everyone has their own opinion on certain mods, brands etc. but at the end of the day it's your car so build it the way you want it :)
